~Wycoller & The Atom~
21st February 2010
Overcast skies and a shortage of available time, led Karen and I to Wycoller, our local favourite, for a bite to eat and a walk to one of East Lancashire's panopticans.

Wycoller Tearooms
We parked at Laneshawbridge and walked across the fields to Wycoller, something I've done many more times than I care to remember. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Wycoller and we decided to get a bite to eat before the main part of our walk.
Wycoller Hall
Viewers of this website will become familiar with Wycoller scenes, but I think that this is the first time I've visited here in such wintry conditions. Artists such as John Corcoran enjoy these conditions.
The Pack Horse Bridge
The Clam Bridge
This lane leads away from Wycoller in an easterly direction, I'm looking back here and the lane is rather slippery. The next two photos are looking forward in our direction of travel.
Cold!
Foster's Leap Farm
The Atom can be seen on the top of the hill in the left of the photo. This is a circular walk, a leaflet is available from the tearooms.

Wycoller Hall
Almost back at Wycoller and a different view of Wycoller Hall. This is the first time I've done this circuit and the route we took is in the opposite direction to that showed on the leaflet and allows for a less steep ascent and steeper descent.
